Asian Leaders Career Recruitment was established in Bangkok, Thailand in 2017. They recognized the importance of recruitment software from the beginning and implemented PORTERS HRBC soon after their establishment and mainly use it for management. We asked Mr. Nakagawa to share with us what he felt is convenient in PORTERS HRBC, details of how they utilize it and any requests or recommendations he has for the future development of PORTERS HRBC.

――First, please tell us about your business

We are a recruitment agency established in Bangkok in June 2017. The characteristic of our company is our high consulting abilities. There are many consultants who can handle a wide range of projects, from fresh graduates to senior positions, but mainly focusing on the middle class. Also, in overseas business, there are many cases where a gap is created between local employees and employees who are sent to from the main office, usually due to differences in the cultures, customs and the way of working. We have a long history of business in Southeast Asia, including our Group CEO Kamohara and myself, and there are many members who understand the local circumstances well. As we work to close the gaps through consulting, we also try to understand the image of the talent our client is looking for, we follow up from the recruitment and selection process then try and support the candidate to settle in.

――PORTERS HRBC was introduced in November 2017, about five months after the business being established. How did you come to that decision?

I used to be a consultant in my previous job, and I was well aware of the importance of a recruitment software. Therefore, I thought about the implementation of a software at an early stage after the company was established. If you manage data in Excel or any other format first, it will be difficult when migrating to a new system. I had known PORTERS HRBC for some time, but the deciding factor was that we could add accounts as we needed, and the system was ready to use. Since we are a startup, we expected that the number of consultants will increase, or fluctuate. That’s why I felt the convenience of the PORTERS HRBC.

――What measures have you taken to promote the use of PORTERS HRBC to your consultants?

Our consultants are 360 Recruitment Consultants. Since all of them also have to engage in business development, there may be a misconception among the consultants that “this client was in contact with me first. So, we made a rule that information on PORTERS HRBC is final, whatever is entered in the system took priority and nothing else would be accepted, this is how we sort of pushed them to use the PORTERS HRBC.

Using the report function and progress NAVI made management of consultants smoother

――What has changed since the implementation of PORTERS HRBC?

The number of staffs has increased by six times since the establishment of our company. We have business alliances with other companies, and some of our consultants sometimes work at their offices. But as remote work opportunities increase, PORTERS HRBC makes managing consultants easier. For example, KPI management for each consultant such as number of received resumes, number of interviews or number of sales. The progress of each consultant’s can also be seen, you can also see how many client approaches were completed and the number of obtained contracts. Even if each of the consultants work independently, you can see the updated progress as soon as you open PORTERS HRBC without having to ask each of the members. If there is a consultant who is not making much progress, we can point it out. Although the consultant may not like it.

――Please tell us about other ways you utilized PORTERS HRBC.

We use Progress Navi to manage the progress of the consultants. Once a week, we have a meeting to confirm the status of progress, but before the meeting we can check the Progress Navi to understand the overall status. In addition, our company website and PORTERS HRBC are linked using Web Parts application provided by Porters Corporation. From the second half of 2018, visitors to our website increased and we started to get more registrants via our website. Therefore, we created Web Parts to automatically import job applicant information via our website to PORTERS HRBC.

――Please let us know if there are any requests for future development of PORTERS HRBC.

It would be nice to have a mobile app. We have a base only in Bangkok and going to other regional cities can take up a whole day. When I want to check the progress on the go, I find it more convenient to have a mobile app.

――Thank you very much. Lastly, please tell us about your future business development.

Our group includes companies that support companies’ establishment process and accounting services overseas. Along with our recruitment business, we are able to support overseas expansion. We would like to expand our recruitment business in Thailand while collaborating with our group companies. Currently, 80% of our clients are Japanese companies, but we are expanding services to companies other than Japanese so that we can expand our business.
